AS YOU STEP THROUGH MY DAY
By Roland E. Williams
Before the morning light awakens
Your footfall continuously echoes
In so many of my joy-filled dreams
And the last remaining witness
The big bright smile on my face
Before that eraser of dreams
Will have forever done away
With the images of bliss and joy
That gave birth to this here day
The catcher engraves it forever
It is not solely the night’s domain
To allow us to have such dreams
The day grants us its own flavor
At times it connects to the catcher
And enhances its engravings more
When our desires are thus strong
Connecting both day and night
Overflowing us with joy and happiness
Our countenance can but reflect this
In our endlessly super fluent smile
