EVERY TIME I SEE THIS HAPPEN
By Roland E. Williams
Does your heart leap as mine does?
When I gaze upon my elephants?
And upon my castles by the sea?
And all the precious treasures I find
In the finest of those fine lines
In those fluffy balls of cotton
In the smile upon my face
Every time I see this happen…
Does your mind marvel as mine does?
When I look in awe at the green rainbows
That unveil themselves in all these shades
And in all these forms and sizes
Bewilderment envelopes me
As those solid greens of evergreen
Leave me open-mouthed
Every time I see this happen…
Does your soul feel shallow as mine does?
When I stand at this smallest of edges
And feel the way of the atom
And sense the puniness of my being
Engulfed by rushes of air flowing
Making way through my empty pettiness
While the waves of the vastness
Stir my each and every cell
Every time I see this happen…
