He’d once been a true man of God

And had stood on the preaching side

Now un-firm on the praying part

He’d had a golden voice, they said

Way back before it all began,

Way back, when innocence was trump

He’d preached a lot, prayed too little,

And soon his apostasy neared,

An outcome he had never sought
